Welcome!

This is a blog about trying new things, tasting all the good things in life, and making every day an adventure.

Do things that make you happy. Try things that will make you better. Look to your friends for inspiration. Everyone has a talent or a special gift to offer. Sometimes just doing the smallest thing can provide a sense of accomplishment, enhance our wellbeing and increase our self-worth.

And if you feel uncomfortable...good! That means you're growing. See as many places as you can on this planet. Meet new people and try new things. There's so much I still want to do and try so you're invited to follow my adventures...the big and the bitty. We can enjoy them over Cocktails on Monday...or any day of the week.

Cheers!

Why Are We Having Cocktails on Monday?

Why Are We Having Cocktails on Monday?

The answer is quite simple...why not?! Being a stay-at-some mom can get monotonous. Going to a full-time job every day can get monotonous. Being a circus performer can get monotonous. (I think. I'm not 100% sure about that one...) Pretty much anything can get monotonous when you do it everyday! Before we know it, days and weeks have gone by but we haven't really learned anything new, done anything different or gotten out of our comfort zones. We're stagnant. And you know what happens to things that are stagnant...stuff grows on them. Green, fuzzy stuff.  So don't turn green & fuzzy!! Change things up! Try something new! That's what I'm doing with this blog. I'm going to try new things, learn new skills, take some classes and tell you all about them--the triumphs and the failures--so then it might get you excited to try something new as well. There's so much out there!

I'm very fortunate to be living in a different country at the 'mo' ('moment' to us Yanks) so every day holds new experiences for me...but only if I'm open to them. And they don't just show up on my doorstep and invite me to 'give 'em a go'. I must make the effort, be courageous, and be open-minded. I wish I had started blogging about life here in England as soon as we arrived. But hey, it's never too late to start something new!! Thanks to the encouragement of my parents & friends, I'm finally doing it...blogging and writing again!! So whatever you've been putting off...do it!! Break up the monotony and light that little spark in your soul! And most definitely, don't wait until Friday...invite your girlfriends over...and have some Cocktails on Monday!! Cheers!

{The cocktails pictured above are Moscow Mules. The first time I had them was in Beaufort, SC with amazing girlfriends so they hold a special place in my heart. And yes, they taste even a little more special in copper mugs.}

Moscow Mule Recipe:

2 ounces vodka

4 ounces ginger beer

1/2 lime, juice only

Lime wedge, for garnish

Fresh mint

Fill a mug (or glass) with the ice, vodka, and lime juice then top with a good quality ginger beer and garnish with  lime wedge & mint. Enjoy...any day of the week!
